Jupiter in 2027: four stretches

Jupiter is the growth planet in Jyotish. It stands for wisdom, guidance, children, teachers, learning and blessings. In 2027 it passes through four phases and changes sign three times: it is in Leo until 25 January, in Cancer from 25 January to 26 June, in Leo again from 26 June to 27 November, and in Virgo from 27 November. These are sidereal (Lahiri) dates, so allow a day either way against your panchang.

The house counted from your Moon sign decides which area of life gets Jupiter's help. In the classical transit (Gochara) rules Jupiter gives its best results in the 2nd, 5th, 7th, 9th and 11th houses from the Moon. Here is who that favours in each stretch:

  • Cancer (late January to June): Mithuna, Kanya, Vrishchika, Makara and Meena. Jupiter is exalted here, which makes the support stronger.
  • Leo (January, and late June to November): Mesha, Karka, Tula, Dhanu and Kumbha.
  • Virgo (from late November): Vrishabha, Simha, Vrishchika, Makara and Meena.

Rahu and Ketu: the axis of desire and release

Rahu stays in Capricorn and Ketu stays in Cancer through all of 2027. They arrived on about 6 December 2026 and move into Sagittarius and Gemini in June 2028. Rahu shows where ambition, experiments and restlessness increase, and Ketu shows where there can be detachment, dissatisfaction or a simpler, more spiritual way of living.

A Mesha Moon has Rahu in Capricorn in the 10th house, which activates career. A Makara Moon gets Rahu over the Moon sign itself, which makes identity and direction more intense. Karka Moon has Ketu sitting on the Moon sign, which asks for emotional simplification and inner clarity. Classically Rahu does best in the 3rd, 6th, 10th and 11th houses, which this year means Vrishchika, Simha, Mesha and Meena Moon signs.
