How the 2027 horoscopes are calculated

The 2027 horoscope pages count four slow planets, Saturn, Jupiter, Rahu and Ketu, from your Moon sign (Janma Rashi) using the classical transit (Gochara) method. A yearly forecast built this way is still general, but it rests on real planetary positions and gives you something firmer than vague annual advice.

Where the slow planets stand in 2027

Saturn and Jupiter change sign more than once during the year, so a single line for each planet would be misleading. These are the dates for the sidereal (Lahiri) zodiac, and a panchang may show a day's difference.

  • Saturn: in Pisces until 3 June, in Aries from 3 June to 20 October, then back in Pisces for the rest of the year. It returns to Aries on 24 February 2028.
  • Jupiter: in Leo until 25 January, in Cancer from 25 January to 26 June, in Leo again from 26 June to 27 November, and in Virgo from 27 November.
  • Rahu: in Capricorn all year, from December 2026 until June 2028.
  • Ketu: in Cancer all year, opposite Rahu.

Saturn's return to Pisces and Jupiter's double visit to Leo both come from retrograde motion, when a planet appears to move backwards for a few months. That is why the year does not divide neatly into two halves.

Reading the planets from your Moon sign

Each Moon sign counts these signs as a different house. For a Mesha Moon, Rahu in Capricorn falls in the 10th house of career, while for a Tula Moon the same Rahu falls in the 4th house of home and emotional foundations. Jupiter in Cancer is the 4th house for Mesha and the 10th for Tula. The house decides which area of life receives the planet's attention, and the sign decides how comfortably it works there.

Career is read from the 10th, 6th and 11th houses. Marriage is read from the 7th, 5th and 2nd, finance from the 2nd, 11th and 8th, health from the 1st, 6th, 8th and 12th, and education from the 4th, 5th and 9th.
